More than 75 years ago, Leonard Turo came to America from Italy with a dream. That dream came true in 1910 when Turo's market began doing business on Shrewsbury Street. Leonardo and his six sons were the beginning of three generations of Turos in the food service business.

Turo's market served the public until 1960, when the family opened the original Leo's Restaurant on the other side of the street. Their reputation for good home-style southern Italian cooking grew. In 1986, the third generation opened a new and larger facility on Brackett Court, directly off Shrewsbury Street, where they have been carrying on the family tradition offering Turo's famous Italian cuisine and a rich history of fine food preparation.
